Utilities - Water, Electricity and Gas Supply in Sector 105, NOIDA

Water Supply:

Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (UPJN) has two points for domestic water supply to Sector 105 - one is an overhead tank next to Fortune Park and the other, an underground facility next to the Judges Colony.

The quality of the water is, of course, questionable. Despite government claims of supplying a mix of river water (Ganga 80%) and groundwater (20%), it comes so loaded with salts and impurities that every household has to either install Reverse Osmosis (RO) machines, or buy water cannisters of RO water for Rs.25 each.

Also, since the water supply is not metered, there is no incentive for residents to conserve this precious resource. As a result, substantial quantities get wasted every day. It is estimated that just one residential colony (Pocket-A) with a mere 192 houses in Noida, is wasting no less than 42 million liters of water every year!

Electricity Supply:

Sector 105 receives its power supply from the 2,20,000V PVVNL Eletricity Substation at Sector-129. Two lines of 33,000V each supply electricity to Sector-105.

Cooking Gas Suppliers:

This area is serviced by three agencies Indane and BharatGas supply gas cylinders, and IGL which has already laid a extensive network for supply of piped PNG to homes in Sector 105.

Procedures: Getting A New Electricity Connection

Those applying for a new electricity connection in NOIDA need to visit the following office:

Location: Just outside the Sector 18 Metro Station exit, along the line of shops on the right side.
Timings: 10:00 AM to 2:20 PM

Documents Required:

1. Application form (blue color) - can be collected at PVVNL office counter no. 1-4
2. (a) For Original Allottee: Allotment Letter, Possession Letter, Lease Deed Copy, (b) For Subsequent Owners: Transfer Memorandum, Transfer Deed cum Sale Deed (copy both sides)
3. Fitment Report: To be collected from one of the three designated "A Class Electricians" registered with NOIDA authority. Names & contacts are displayed on the PVVNL notice board. The nearest one is "Singhal Electricals", opposite Nathu Sweets.
4. Identity Proof

Note: An affidavit is no longer required along with the application


Procedure:

• Fill up the application form, attach photograph and get it attested by a Class-I Gazetted Officer or by your bank
• Sign on all pages of the photocopied documents
• Attach the above docs to the application and get them confirmed by at one of the counters (1-4). Collect acknowledgment slip and go to payment counter
• Make payment at Cash Counter right outside the PVVNL office
• Installation of the meter depends on availability. It is currently available within two weeks.

Cost:

• The cost of a 7Kw connection is Rs.12,475. The minimum needed is a 5Kw connection.
• The "cost" of a "Fitment Report" varies according to your bargaining skills. The current asking price seems to be Rs.500-Rs.600
